TAMAN UJUNG KARANGASEM

Taman Ujung is a famous tourist attraction in Karangasem. Taman Ujung water palace which is a legacy of Karangasem kingdom. This tourist attraction is located in the tip region including areas Tumbi village, sub-district, Karangasem, Karangasem regency. Taman Ujung extent of about 10 acres located in the southeast of the city Amlapura which is about 10 km or from the capital Denpasar is about 90 km. 

I will give you a bit of an explanation about the history of this attraction. This tourist attraction was founded in 1919, in the kingdom led by King of Karangasem I Gusti Bagus Djelantik which is better known as the Great Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. But previously been built by the king of Karangasem Dirah pool in 1901, which is where the swimming pool is haunted because it was originally used as a dumping ground for those who could be considered ngeleak. Then the pool is coupled with two other pools and also built some resting place. In addition, also built Persemedian King and Bale Kambang or also called Taman Gili. In antiquity the construction of Taman Ujung done to be a place of rest and a place to entertain important guests who visit the kingdom of Karangasem. In 1921, Taman Ujung officially used and when it was given the nickname of the park end water palace by the Dutch government. So a little about the history of Taman Ujung.

In the middle of the pond there is a resting place called Taman Gili. For local residents call it the Hanging Palace because of the form of the building hanging over the water and on the walls are reliefs depicting the story of Mahabharata and Ramayana. The structure of the building is very distinctive which is a blend of Balinese and European architectures. Europe can be seen in shades of colored glass wall Taman Gili same design as that of the churches in Europe. As a resting place, Taman Gili is a kind of building with many windows on the east and west of the building. From the window can see the pond full of flowers around headlands (lotus) pink and white. As a tourist attraction, at the northwest corner of Taman Ujung contained cottages available for visitors who wish to stay. Besides Taman Ujung has a very enchanting natural scenery, the scenery there hills northeast Bisbis, southern tip of the beach looks blue water, in the western part of the settlement, while the eastern part is the scenery of rice fields and thousands of coconut trees.
